and typos.
NB: file seems to have been corrupted programmatically (?) during
correction--bbedit possibly implicated.  Zapped passages were restored by hand --bcf pm

added the PERMANENT ids--the ids reside in archimedes.xml in cvs under
/admin/archimedes

changed dtd to right  one and added xml declaration

replaced <arrow.to.target n="fig*"> with <figure n="fig*">
changed DTD to allow this.
